Written a very long time in the past for my good good friend the Kiltmeister, when our rally was in Trenton, Ontario in 2002. Properly, really, different members wrote these articles, I edited them and posted on our rally site.
By way of the Soo and The North Shore of Lake Superior..
Briefly:
1) go into Canada
2) Take the ferry from the Tobermory Peninsula
3) On the Soo Locks go both north throughout the highest of Lake Superior, or…
4) Throughout Michigan’s Higher Peninsula
From there, I’d journey throughout North Dakota (Medora is an effective stopping place), US12 west of Lolo, MT and thru the US highways of northern Oregon. Baker, Oregon is one other good stopping place. Sorry for small and/or lacking pics, this work was carried out earlier than the times of broadly accessible broadband Web entry.
Search for names like The Rattlesnake and the Blue Mountain Scenic Byway.
This isn’t your typical journey…
